Kindle Users Facing Issues Downloading New Books

Users of Amazon's popular e-book reader, Kindle, are experiencing difficulties downloading new and purchased books onto their devices due to issues with the book download service. Amazon support forum moderators have confirmed, in response to users reporting the problem, that the company is aware of the issue and is "currently working on resolving it."

Some sources have suggested temporary solutions for affected users, such as trying to restart the device or performing a factory reset.

While these solutions have not resolved the issue for the majority of users, they may help in some individual cases. Users will have to wait for the company itself to resolve the issue.

Amazon support specialists have stated that the problem is due to "server issues" and that "resuming e-book downloads will take at least 48 hours and may take longer." Multiple reports in Amazon support forums indicate that Kindle devices are only able to download the book title and its illustrations before the download progress halts at 1%.

The problem has caused inconvenience for users who noted that it disrupted their reading plans during travel or leisure time. The issue also affects the downloading of books that users are trying to download from Overdrive to their Kindle devices using the Libby app. However, users can download books via the "Amazon Kindle" app on iOS and Android systems.

This latest issue comes just a week after several Kindle users complained about a problem with the "Send to Kindle" feature, which allows uploading e-books and documents to e-readers without needing to connect them to a computer. Some users received error messages stating that their files "could not be delivered due to a service error."
